“School Choice Scholarship Program”
Would allow the Board of Education to give grants to organizations, that in turn would give private-school scholarships to low-income families. It was introduced on  Jan. 17, 2013 by Sen. Sam Slom, R-Honolulu and has not yet left committee.

Breakdown:

Hawaii recently passed a private preschool voucher bill, but on the K-12 front, Hawaiian policymakers and the state's governor, Neil Abercrombie, for the most part have not indicated much interest in enacting any school privatization laws..
